| THE ARTIST
Third-generation San Franciscan Raymond Martinez was captivated by the natural beauty and cultural richness of his beloved city. The great bridges, the Palace of Fine Arts, the Legion of Honor, the Opera House, and City Hall are among the structures that inspired Raymond's lifelong interest in architecture. Though he had some formal training in painting and drafting, he was largely self-taught. He was also a gifted singer and performed with some of the area's premier classical and chamber music ensembles, including the SF Opera and Symphony. Raymond passed away in 2016, and his sister Marian was pleased to persist in sharing his remarkable artistic gifts. Before she died in 2022 she asked their nephew to continue the project. With the help of their family and friends he is honored to fulfill that role. |
